Rapid Biomonitoring of Heavy Metals in Polluted Sites Using Xenoassay®-Metal

چکیده

Long-term water contamination, including heavy metals, may harm the reputation of location. Because this, it is necessary to do regular quality checks. In light high expense instrument monitoring, biomonitoring based on enzymes rapidly gaining popularity around world. For purpose this investigation, a molybdenum-reducing enzyme from Serratia marcescens strain DRY6 that sensitive metals was used build quick inhibitory assay. The bacterium's activity extremely vulnerable metals. With help established assay, were detected in samples collected Malacca, Penang, and Perak. A number sampling locations Penang found be inhibiting activity, while all Malacca confirmed free metal concentrations. Malaysian Department Environment has set maximum permissible limit for suppression Mo-reducing Penang. Detection can done less than ten min at room temperature. entire procedure takes 20 min. first screening or even near real-time method routine monitoring assay straightforward.

Phytoremediation of heavy metals polluted environments

The rapid industrial development and agricultural growth and the indiscriminate production of pollutants have faced problems for human societies and the environment. Accumulation and pollution of heavy metals in the environment are the main important problems that as a result of human activities through extraction from ore and processing for various applications has led to the release of these ...

Phytoscreening and phytoextraction of heavy metals at Danish polluted sites using willow and poplar trees

The main purpose of this study was to determine typical concentrations of heavy metals (HM) in wood from willows and poplars, in order to test the feasibility of phytoscreening and phytoextraction of HM. Samples were taken from one strongly, one moderately, and one slightly polluted site and from three reference sites. Wood from both tree species had similar background concentrations at 0.5 mg ...

Human biomonitoring of heavy metals in the vicinity of non-ferrous metal plants in Ath, Belgium

BACKGROUND A previous study revealed an environmental contamination by heavy metals in the vicinity of two non-ferrous metal plants in Ath, Belgium. The purpose of the current cross-sectional study was to estimate exposure of the population to heavy metals in the vicinity of the plants, in comparison with population living further away. METHODS We did a random sampling in the general populati...

Accumulation of heavy metals and antioxidant responses in Pinus sylvestris L. needles in polluted and non-polluted sites

The purpose of this study was to determine the concentrations of heavy metals (cadmium, iron, manganese, lead and zinc) in current-year, 1-year old and 2-year old needles of Pinus sylvestris L. Trees were from three heavily polluted (immediate vicinity of zinc smelter, iron smelter and power plant) and three relatively clean sites (nature reserve, ecologically clean site and unprotected natural...
